A parcel-gilt ho-ho bird rises between the scrolling arms of the broken swan-neck pediment, which terminate in carved floral roundels. Below, a moulded cornice surmounts a figured walnut frame fitted with divided antique mirror plates within a shaped parcel-gilt slip. Pierced trails of foliage, flowers, and fruit descend along the sides, and the frame terminates in a shaped apron edged with conforming parcel-gilt moulding. The gilding has been refreshed throughout.
Its tall, narrow proportions make it particularly well suited to a pier wall, entrance hall, or placement above a console.
